Plymouth Public Library will be closed until Monday, April 13 or until further notice.
After further discussion with the Library Board of Trustees and other officials, we have decided to close the library effective immediately through Monday, April 13 or until further notice. The building will be closed to the public for that time. Library staff will be meeting on Monday to assess what services the library can reasonably offer during the shutdown.
Our outdoor book drop will remain open at this time. However, we are highly encouraging you to hold on to any materials that you have at home. Any library materials you currently have checked out will not be due until April 13, and no late fees will be charged. Please do not return materials if you or a family member is sick or believes they have been exposed to COVID-19.
Please know that this was not an easy decision. However, we believe it is the best decision to make to protect the community and our staff. It is our duty to act to limit the spread of the virus and try to protect the most vulnerable within our community.
Please take advantage of our online services, including multiple ways that you can check out movies, eBooks, eAudiobooks, digital magazines, online courses and more. You can find them at: http://plymouthpubliclibrary.net/2017/12/07/digital-services/
For the month of March and April we will allow up to 10 check outs on our new Hoopla digital service. We will try to have staff available by phone or Facebook Messenger Monday-Friday 9:00 am-5:00 pm to troubleshoot any access issues.
This is a rapidly changing situation, and we could reopen earlier if we get the all clear from officials. Thank you again for your understanding. Take care and be well.
Leslie Jochman, Library Director
