Join us in the library's meeting room to play games with fellow Dragon Trainers, eat snacks, and socialize. Meet-ups take place every 4th Thursday of the month.

(No Meet-Ups in November and December 2024 due to holidays)

Nope! Students are able to sign-up at any point during September through April. We recommend signing up right away so you can earn more cards!

No, you do not have to come to the library every week to check-in for this program! Participants can complete rows at their own pace, so we recommend stopping in at least once a month to collect their cards. There will be a special "Creature Feature" each month with three exclusive creature cards that are only available during that month, so visiting once a month will guarantee a chance to collect those.

The Reading Dragons Club originally started at the Dover Public Library in Dover, Ohio! The original line art for the dragons was designed by Mallory Thompson of the Children's Department at the Dover Public Library, and then unique colors and themes for each dragon were created by fellow Dover Library staff.

Anyone currently in Grades 1st through 5th grade can participate! Because we have 1000 Books Before Kindergarten for the library's littlest friends, we wanted to make a special reading club for our older friends.

The Reading Dragons Club ends in April so the dragons can go on vacation!

Just kidding... The program ends in April so students can focus their energy on participating in the library's Summer Reading Program! The Reading Dragons Club will then start again in September once school resumes.
